Hong Kong Tram redesign

Tram is one of the oldest means of transportation in Hong Kong - has been serving Hong Kong since 1904. Hong Kong Tramways is one of the three tramways in the world that have regular operation of double-decker trams. The tramway runs on Hong Kong Island between Shau Kei Wan and Kennedy Town.

Recently, Hong Kong Tramway Limited have launched and operated a new tram - 2000 Hong Kong tram. These redesign failed to improve city viewing option because the problem of reviewing culture icons is not enough for Hong Kong. The interior and the spacing are not enough in the tram, for example, the seating are not suitable and comfortable for enjoy the travel.

This redesign project aims are improving passenger comfort and viewing options, while providing Hong Kong with a renewed transportation icon, designed within the constraints of the current tram such as size and capacity. In facts, it can provide a comfortable riding for the passengers.

For the reason of wider view, my design solution is clearing the top part for improving the viewing. It is because the landscapes between the tram rail can show the beauty face of Hong Kong Island. Wider view of passengers to be equal to show Hong Kong effectively.
